The Oktibbeha County Sheriff's patch was designed by Sheriff Dolph Bryan and Chief Deputy George Carrithers in 1983 as the Offices' sesquicentennial (150 years) patch. The patch encompasses the eagle which represents the Great Nation in which we live along with the United States Flag. It has the flag of the State of Mississippi along with a design of the State. Inside the State is a star that represents where Oktibbeha County is located and 1833 which is the year that Oktibbeha County was founded. The tan background is the main color of our uniform. The green border represents the time of the year it was designed (Spring) and also seperates the patch from the shirt.Oktibbeha has several Indian names such as "Bloody Waters" and "Troubled Waters". We are very proud of our patch and it has been duplicated several times by Counties that have changed it to fit their County.
